A discussion on advancements in SLE management, disease state, and background on the treat to target approach with the aim of DORIS remission. This presentation will review DORIS remission, organ damage, and outcomes incorporating highlights from ACR SLE treatment guidelines for management in real-world practice.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Sanjay Chabra, D.O., is a board-certified rheumatologist and CEO and Research Director of Rheumatology at the Texas Arthritis & Research Center in El Paso, Texas. He currently serves as President of the American Arthritis & Rheumatology Association. Dr. Chabra holds academic appointments with the University of California, Irvine; Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; and regional medical centers in Texas and New Mexico.
Dr. Chabra has served as a principal or sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials and has authored or presented research at major national and international meetings, including the American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting. His clinical and research interests include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, gout, osteoporosis, inflammatory myopathies, and other rheumatic diseases. He is a frequent faculty member, moderator, keynote contributor, and advisory board participant in rheumatology education.
Dr. Chabra’s professional recognition includes the 2024 Arthritis Foundation of Texas Medical Honoree Recognition Award, multiple Orange Coast Top Doctors in Rheumatology distinctions, repeated recognition as an America’s Top Physician in Rheumatology, and the Values in Action Award from St. Jude Heritage Healthcare. He has also received multiple teaching and service honors, including Resident of the Year, Intern of the Year, and Ambulatory Resident of the Year. Fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Punjabi, Dr. Chabra is committed to advancing rheumatology education, research, and patient care.
